A Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) now operates in each province of Canada. The purpose of these programs is to attract and retain people, especially those most likely to generate economic activity for the province. These programs are seeing increases in staff, decreases in processing times and website improvements providing greater simplicity.
Under this program an employer can nominate a limited number of candidates for some skilled positions and make an application to a participating state for sponsorship of the work permit in Canada. The following requirements may apply:
The position must be one that can not be filled by a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident
The position is permanent and full time
The candidate has the required qualification for the position
The candidate has the required work experience
The position meets provincial employment and wage standards.
In addition to the above you and your family will have to meet the following requirements to be eligible for a Canada Permanent Resident Visa:
Undergo a medical examination
Evidence that you have a good character
Abide by Canadian and Provincial Laws
If your potential Canadian employer is not currently operating a business in the eligible states, you will not be eligible to apply under the PNP and may like to consider some alternative options for Canadian immigration that may be available to you.
